JC Festival Raises $200,000

The second annual Johnny Cash Music Festival raised a total of $200,000.

Money from the event will go to help fund the restoration of his boyhood home in Dyess, Ark., and to support a scholarship fund established in his name.

His daughter, Rosanne Cash, hosted last Friday’s (Oct. 5) event at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro featuring performances by Dierks Bentley, Willie Nelson, the Civil Wars and many others.

Plans are underway for next year’s event which marks the 10th anniversary of  Cash’s death.
