  • Food Drive

When: Through Nov. 17th
Where: Golden Living-Boaz
A contest is being set up between Boaz City Schools. Donations will be delivered to residents in the Boaz Senior Center, Manor House and Mtn. Vernon Homes. For more information or to make donation, contact 256-558-2652.

  • Drive-thru Flu Shots

When: Tuesday, Oct. 21st, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. 
Where: Marshall County Technical School
Shots are $5 for persons 6 months and older. Free to Medicaid and Medicare with card. Conducted by the Marshall County Health Dept.

  • Friends of Guntersville Library Celebration

When: Thursday, Oct. 23rd; 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Where: Guntersville Library
Refreshments, entertainment and a drawing for a free e-reader. A video will also be shown depicting the last 35 years of the library. For more information, 256-582-4752.

  • Gerhart Music Festival

When: Sat. Oct. 25; 7 p.m. & Sun. Oct. 26th; 2 p.m.
Where: Snead State Community College, Fielder Auditorium
Admission is free.

  • Meeks Grain & Gin Fall Festival

When: Saturday, Oct. 25th, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
Where: 2066 County Road 58, Pisgah, (Meeks Grain & Gin)

  • 5th Annual Pink Pumpkin Run/Walk

When: Saturday, Oct. 25th; 7 a.m.
Where: Guntersville Civitan Park
Schedule of events 7:00 – 8:45 am Race Day Registration, 9:00 am: Pink Pumpkin Run 10K, 9:30 am: Pink Pumpkin Run 5K, 10:30 am 1 Mile Fun Run and Pancake Brunch, 11 am: Awards Ceremony. If you have questions or would like to register, contact 256-571-8026.

  • Vietnam Veterans Honor Celebration

When: Saturday, Oct. 25th; 1 p.m.
Where: Jimmy Harris VFW Post- Boaz
Veterans are asked to come in the front door of the main post building when they arrive. Family and friends are asked to come in front fair gate entrance. Dress is comfortable. The event is sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 6837. For more information, 205-466-5777.

  • DeKalb County Motorcycle Toy Run- Toy Drive

When: Sat. Oct. 25th (rain delay Nov. 1st) 11 a.m.
Where: Fort Payne Pavilion
Motorcycle run to starts in Ft Payne at Pavilion next to city park, ride ends at Crossville City Park. Toy drive starts at 12:00 noon in Crossville park, open to everyone. 50/50 drawing and lunch provided by D&F Equipment sales.  Benefit the Dekalb County Department of Human Resources. Donations of unwrapped new boys and girls toys are appreciated. Money donations are also accepted.

  • Fall Movie Night

When: Sat. Oct 25th; 7 p.m.
Where: Snead State Community College S.U.B.
Student & Faculty Admission: $3, Adults $5, children $3. 7 p.m.-Frankenwennie, 9 p.m. Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Concessions $1. Hosted by SSCC Media Club.

  • 3rd Annual Turkey & Skeet Shoot

When: Sat. Oct. 25th; 8 a.m.
Where: Liberty United Methodist Church in Hokes Bluff
Chili and soup will be served at lunch. Fun activities for kids and a rock wall to climb. All proceeds go to provide help to those in need.

  • Gracefest

When: Sunday, Oct. 26th  2 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Where: Etowah County Fair Grounds
Entertainment provided by local contemporary Christian acts.

  • Hospice of Marshall County Retirement Party for Squirt

When: Wednesday, Oct. 29th; 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Where: Hospice of Marshall County Community Room- Albertville
Squirt, the Hospice cat is officially retiring at the end of the month due to health problems. Hospice is inviting the community to wish him a happy retirement. The 2nd Chance Shelter will also be hosting an Adoption Day during the party. Adopt an animal (for a small fee) in need of a forever home in honor of Squirt.

Where: Big Spring Lake Golf Club- Albertville
All seats $15. Cash bar and tailgating foods. Cornhole, putting and other activities.

Games and prizes for all ages. Hot dogs, chips, drinks, $3. Cake walk, face painting, and more.

  • Altrusa Autumn Expo

Where: Senior Activity Center / 623 Broad Street, Gadsden

  • Union Rescue Squad Thanksgiving Dinner

Where: Downtown Boaz
Visit with Santa at the Boaz Chamber on Sat. and see live deer and Kangaroo. Carolers will stroll the streets and entertain shoppers. Ride in a house drawn wagon as they take you downtown. Arts & Craft vendors, food and children’s play area.
