  • Dixie Pre Majors World Series

When: July 24th – 29th
Where: Guntersville Rec Field Complex & Guntersville High School field
Teams from 11 states including a host team from Guntersville will compete in this top level youth baseball tournament.

  • “Wingfest” Fundraiser 

When: Friday, August 7th, 5 pm – 9 pm
Where: Sylvania High School
SHS Quarterback Club will buy 10,000+ wings and divide them up between the 12-16 competitors participating. Tickets to taste 1 wing from each competitor will be $10 and will go on sale next week. Tickets will be $15 day of event.

  • Albertville Chamber of Commerce 5K Race

When: Saturday, August 8th, starting 7 am
Where: Downtown Albertville

  • 4th Annual Habitat for Humanity Dragon Boat Festival

When: Saturday, August 15th
Where:  Coosa River at Riverwalk Park

  • MAD Hoops 3v3 for Kicks

When: Saturday, August 22nd; 9 am
Where: Albertville Rec Center
Basketball tournament, entry fee is $50. Tournament is double elimination. “Lose The Shoes” program is also partnering to collect new and slightly used shoes to give to those who are in need. Registration will be available mid-June.

  • King Kat Tournament

When: Sunday, Sept. 19th
Where: Bucky Howe Park
The largest and oldest competitive catfishing organization in America will bring a one-day catfish tournament. It is a qualifying tournament with all teams qualifying for the 2015 Eastern Championship. The tournament travels to 20 states a year. Free for all youth through age 12. www.kingkatusa.com.

  • Model A Tour

When: Oct. 14th – 17th
Where:  Marshall County
The “Sweet Home Alabama Tour” by the Central Alabama Model A Ford Club will visit Marshall County Oct. 14-17. The group will bring 80-100 attendees, touring Marshall County in their Model A Ford cars (only made 1927-1931). Planned stops include the Guntersville Dam, Cathedral Caverns, Lake Guntersville State Park, Arab Historical Village, etc. Contact Richard Haldeman for more info: 256-894-5493.

Where: Lake Guntersville Pavilion
