Airplane shooter sentenced
A Blount County man told a federal judge Thursday morning that he is “deeply sorry” for firing a shotgun at an antique biplane last June. Jason Allen McCay of Hayden was then sentenced to one year of probation. McCay lives across the road from an airstrip and had complained to several agencies about planes flying over his home before shooting at the biplane. He won’t be allowed to have firearms and ammunition and might have to enroll in an anger management or cognitive therapy program.
