Grandmother’s new hearing date

A preliminary hearing has been rescheduled for a woman who allegedly drove a car that struck and killed her two-year-old grandson in the front yard of a home in Albertville. Rebecca Elrod was supposed to appear in court last week but her attorney was sick and the judge has set a new date of February 15th. Elrod is charged with criminally negligent homicide in the death last October of two-year-old Brayden Lucas Daniel. Investigators say she was under the influence of prescription medication at the time of the accident.
