The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for an area including the counties of Marshall, DeKalb, Etowah, Calhoun, Cherokee and Blount. It will be in effect from 6 o’clock this evening until 6 o’clock tomorrow evening. You can expect south winds of 20 to 30 miles an hour, gusting to 40 miles an hour and as much as 50 miles an hour in higher elevations. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially in high-profile vehicles. Loose outdoor objects can be blown around and weakened trees are more likely to fall.
