Smurfing crackdown

Law enforcement officials in Northeast Alabama are undertaking a new campaign to crackdown on the practice of “smurfing.” It was announced Wednesday at a news conference that included the District Attorney of Dekalb County, along with Fort Payne and Scottsboro police. Smurfing is the practice of stockpiling of drugs like Sudafed used to make methamphetamine and then re-selling them to meth manufacturers.
