Murder plea and sentence

A Marshall County man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for the murder of an Albertville woman. Christopher Shockley entered a guilty plea Wednesday afternoon in the murder of Tonya Michelle Turnmire. The two had lived together. Police say Turnmiresay disappeared after leaving her job at a Boaz store in June 2010. Shockley had confessed to police and led them to Turnmire’s body in Etowah County.
