Cop murder trial moved

A man accused of killing an Anniston police officer won’t be tried in that city. Calhoun County Circuit Judge Brian Howell has decided that the capital murder trial of 25-year-old Joshua Eugene Russell will be held elsewhere. The judge ruled Friday that a change of the trial location was appropriate after seeing a survey of Calhoun County residents which indicated 70 percent of those interviewed had knowledge of important facts in the case from following news coverage. Russell is charged with the shooting death of 27-year-old officer Justin Sollohub during a foot chase in August 2011.
