Spring break may not officially get underway for a week or two, but Luke Bryan gets the party started early this Tuesday (March 5) when he releases his Spring Break . . . Here to Party album. A compilation of the best cuts from his four prior spring break EPs— plus two new songs—the album is tailor-made for fun in the sun.
“The main thing for spring break is to free up our mind and do some fun songs,” Luke tells Country Weekly, explaining the origins of the project. But those sandy tunes can also end up in the set list of his Dirt Road Diaries Tour. “I think what defines any of the spring break songs I’ve ever recorded is if they make it into my live show. And we do ‘If You Ain’t Here to Party’ and ‘Suntan City’ live. If they weren’t really good songs, we wouldn’t be adding them into the headlining show.”
On March 12 and 13, Luke will once again return to Panama City Beach, Fla., for his annual spring break concerts at Spinnaker Beach Club.
“Panama City was always three hours from the house [growing up in Georgia]. When I was a kid, we were down there for summer vacation, and when I was in high school and college, I was there a lot for spring break,” Luke says of the seaside destination. “I have a lot of history and a lot of ties to Panama City.”
