Red Kettle Collections Down
The Salvation Army here, like everywhere in the country, has fallen behind its collection goals this season. Thanksgiving came on the latest possible date, and the red kettle bells don’t start ringing till then. So donations are not as robust at this point in the season as last. Army Major Glenn Riggs is quoted as saying the red kettle donations here are 34 hundred dollars under what they’d hoped for, and they are hopeful that a last-minute push will cause people to open their hearts and give what they can to their needy neighbors.
