Boaz Girl Honored Today as Finalist for Major Award from Uncle Ben's
Today there will be a big event at Boaz High School in which Alabama’s First Lady, and state, county and local officials will join 15 hundred students in celebrating Corley Elementary School student Claire Noles’ being named a finalist in the Uncle Ben’s Beginner’s Cooking Contest. Uncle Ben’s created the contest to encouraged kids to cook with their parents and develop healthy eating habits early. 7 year-old Claire entered her recipe for Crockpot Chicken and Rice Supreme. Claire is a finalist, but with all the hoopla everybody will be hoping to hear her name when Uncle Ben’s announces the Grand Prize Winner at today’s event in Boaz. Grand prize is a 30 thousand dollar school cafeteria makeover and 15 thousand in cash.
