Jury Selection in Etowah Murder Trial

Jury selection was due to start yesterday in the trial of an Etowah County woman accused of running her granddaughter to death. The prosecution and defense will select from a pool of 700 people. Joyce Hardin Garrard faces capital murder charges for allegedly making nine-year-old Savannah Hardin run around their home for three hours for lying about stealing a candy bar. Savannah’s stepmother, Jessica Mae Hardin, faces a charge of murder.
