Judge denies motion to dismiss Garrard’s case

You can’t say the defense didn’t try.

Attorneys for Joyce Garrard have filed a motion to dismiss her case based on “willful misconduct by the state of Alabama and prejudice to the defendant.”

The judge has denied that motion, though, and the case picks up again tomorrow.

Authorities have charged Garrard with capital murder, accusing her of forcing her granddaughter to run until she collapsed and died.
