Marsh Says Gambling Would Save State Budget

The governor is proposing a tax hike…to come up with badly needed funds. But another lawmaker says…lets crank-up some gambling.

Alabama Senate President Pro Tem Del Marsh says casino gambling and a lottery could generate hundreds of millions of dollars for the state. Marsh says a recent study that he commissioned shows the gambling could give the state $400 million in new revenue, with most of it from a lottery. Marsh says he’ll talk to other lawmakers and only introduce a bill if he thinks it has a chance to pass
