Armed protesters walked through a Birmingham neighborhood yesterday — some carried loaded rifles. They’re upset about a man left paralyzed by a police shooting. A few dozen protestors gathered in the Kingston community. Police kept back a block or two as protestors walked and talked — things were peaceful. The protest follows the shooting of Courtney Gadsden. He was shot five times by officers. Police say he showed a gun and refused to drop it. He’s in the hospital — paralyzed from the waist down.
