Prosecution Finished In Madison Cop Trial

The prosecution has presented it’s case against a Madison cop — charged with using excessive force on an Indian man who could not speak English and who did not break the law. Officer Eric Parker accused of slamming Sureehbhai Patel to the ground — partially paralyzing him. Parker was checking on suspicious activity in the neighborhood — Patel did not speak English and did not understand the officer’s commands — he testified through an interpreter. This is Parker’s second trial — the first ended with a hung jury.
