Another case of tuberculosis confirmed — troubling news since three people have died of the illness since 2011 in rural Alabama. It’s yet another case in the city of Marion which is the county seat of Alabama’s poorest county. Since the outbreak, health officials have visited people — trying to get blood samples and talk to about the disease. In some cases, state workers had beer bottles thrown at them. The local health dept there has started paying people to be tested for TB and to take their medicine.
