Appeals Court Gives Green Light To Abortion Procedure Some Call “Gruesome”

An appeals court says Alabama cannot ban certain abortion procedures. The court threw out a state law that would have stopped many abortions in the second trimester. But the court says the law would cause women to lose access to abortions after 15 weeks. The Alabama law banned the procedure known as dilation and evacuation, in which the baby is removed in pieces with forceps. But the court says — it’s ok.
