Many women struggle with homelessness, incarceration,  drug addiction and domestic abuse.  The Lovelady Center  in Alabama is the largest long term recovery center in  the country, helping women overcome these obstacles  to successful lives for themselves and often, for their children.

The annual Blount County Children’s Center  Blue Ribbon Dinner is Tuesday, April 30th at The Anchors Church in Oneonta.  Advanced  Tickets are required. 

Huckaby’s Hope for Paws is hosting a charity BINGO night on Wednesday, May 1st from 6p – 8p At the Back Forty Beer Company in Gadsden. Help raise money for this local non profit  Animal Rescue in Gadsden. 

The Marshall Medical Center North Volunteer Auxiliary Is hosting a $5 Jewelry Sale Thursday May 2nd from 7a till 6p And Friday May 3rd from 7a till 4p at the Marshall North  Main lobby. All proceeds will be used To fund special purchases for the hospital.

The City of Southside is hosting “Dinner and A Movie” Friday, May 3rd at 6pm  At Southside Landing.  The family comedy “Open Season” will be played at dusk and Entry is free.

The Taco Trot 5K Race & Star Wars Festival is Saturday, May 4th at Civitan Park in Guntersville. There will be a race, Live Music, Tacos, Photo Booth & much More. All proceeds benefit Family Services Of North Alabama.

The O’ So Good BBQ Festival is happening on Saturday, May 4th from 9a till 5p with a free  Concert starting at 6pm at the Oneonta Parks And Rec Center in Oneonta.  Admission is free But donations to the Oscar Bothwell Scholarship  Fund will be accepted.

The Sardis High School football team is Hosting a one day only Mattress Fundraiser  On Saturday, May 4th from 10a till 5p at Sardis High School.  Brand name matteresses will  Be offered for up to 40% below retail.
